I’ve been loving shooting in Milwaukee more and more so I was excited when Kelsey contacted me about her wedding at Turner Hall. She was a bridesmaid in Amy and Drew’s A New Leaf wedding (she’s Drew’s sis) and said that she thought the experience working with me was really easy and laid-back and that’s what she wanted for her day. That’s alway a huge compliment for me because I want the day to feel like that for my couples, their family, and friends. Kelsey also likes images with a little bit of edge so I knew this pair would be really fun to work with and explore the space for portraits.
Turner Hall is this really interesting venue to shoot in with the contrast between the window light and the darker interiors. Additionally, it’s a music venue so there’s a stage and an upper and lower level for different vantage points for a photographer. I could shoot there over and over.. it’s definitely on my list of faves now.
We started Kelsey and Nate’s day with the girls getting ready in a hotel and the guys at the venue. Then the couple met up for a first look on the river and walked to the venue for portraits before their ceremony. The ceremony was followed by cocktails on the upper level and then back downstairs for dinner and dancing. It was an easy flow for guests to enjoy the day. And as you can see they had a great party!
