Not only is the Chicago Field Museum a must see when visiting this amazing city, it also serves as one of the most unique and upscale venues to host your wedding day. Chicago offers many museum options, yet The Field Museum’s architecture and history make it a unique choice for your event. The grand stairs and roman columns decorate the entrance and serves as a stunning backdrop for wedding portraits. Inside, a couple can celebrate their night away in the grand Stanley Field Hall. The museum embraces its character by acknowledging their outstanding exhibits and incorporating them into your celebration’s decor. Surrounding exhibits, such as their captivating nature walk, are opened to guests during cocktail hour. You cannot talk about the Chicago Field Museum of Natural History without noting their prestigious display: Sue. A 12ft tall Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton, which has become a well loved site to see in Chicago. This world renown artifact is accompanied by two African Elephants, making for some eye-catching adornments that guests will continue to talk about. The main hall is encompassed by an upper-level balcony for views of the space. The stunning split staircase is also a perfect spot for portraits of a couple. At night, guests can make their way outside to enjoy the fireworks from Navy Pier. The overall feel of this venue has embedded character, but still allows each couple to design the space unique to their event. The Field Museum is a gorgeous venue to host your wedding and as a photographer I highly recommend it for both artistic portraits on site as well as gorgeous shots of your wedding reception.
